Email accounts are currently being set up for all registered high schools involved in the First Responder program.

 

HOW EMAILS WORK:

Email accounts are being set up for all registered high schools in the Vancouver Lower Mainland involved in the First Responder program.

[TEST1 - COMPLETE] Email accounts will consist of a generalized account in the format of: [school name]FR@firstresponders.ca (e.g., mcmathFR@firstresponders.ca). The generalized account will be under the control of the president of the school, as well as the sponsor teacher if they choose so. This account will be used for general inquiries from the public should they have questions about joining the team.

[TEST2] A second email account will constist of a team specific account in the format of: [school name]FRteam@firstresponders.ca (e.g., mcmathFRteam@firstresponders.ca). All registered members of the corresponding school's First Responder team will be included in the forwarder application. Any emails sent to this account will automatically be forwarded to all accounts associated. This account will be used for any announcements that need to be made to the entire team.

Please note, these email accounts are for the use of the First Responder team and not meant for personal use. Passwords will be reset at the end of the school year, and the account will be passed down to the succeeding president.

INSTRUCTIONS

Please email admin@firstresponders.ca with the topic: "Email Accounts" to begin:

High school team presidents, please email admin@firstresponders.ca with the appropriate information needed to start the accounts. After familiarizing yourself with the details, please email the name of the school you are from and the name of the acting president for the year 2011/12. Should the system work out, please provide admin with the email information of all members on the team. Ask sponsor teachers if they would like to be a part of the emailing list as well. Thanks!

I think this is a great idea…whoever came up with it is a genius ;) hahah

I'm planning on making a notice of some sort (something really simple) to put outside the teacher's sponsor classroom with

 

"Are YOU interested in being a First Responder? Email: mcmathFR@firstresponders.ca "

 

If anyone else is interested I can make the same thing for them too. Just leave me a msg and I'll send you the template of the notice once I'm finished.
