Emergency Care Manual Workbook
Dear all First Responders,
We are in the midst of trying a new service to better notify you of upcoming events. This new notification will come to via a text message on your phone. Subscription to the service is voluntary and free, and all information on the participant end is kept private (we can’t see your phone number, etc.).
If you would like to participate, please text the number 778 402 0055 with the code “@gvmastfr” (without the quotation marks).
You will be prompted to text back the number with your name. Please do so, as this helps us keep track of who’s currently getting our messages. This will hopefully encourage increased knowledge in events for all the First Responders.
A quick update for all First Responders. We have been recognized by the Richmond Chamber of Commerce for our exceptional volunteer service to the community. Well done, and keep it up!
To all incoming teams for the 2013-2014 year,
I hope you had a nice break over the summer break. Although summer is not yet over, please consider helping the group out by volunteering for the many events listed on the sidebar on your right to train up your skills before the school year starts.
Just a reminder that all teams will have their equipment returned to them after use from the Jamboree. If your team is missing any equipment that you think you should have, please contact Jeff.
That’s it for now,
To all First Responders, please keep this in mind as we head into February and the later months.
- Participation in certain events has been lacking. Please ensure that you are actively participating in volunteer events. Of significance are the hockey tournaments coming up in March (Spring Break), in which we will need many personnel to assist in coverage. It is a great opportunity for calls that are slightly more serious in nature.
- To all schools, please check your pagers to ensure that they are fully operational. If you find something wrong with them, please change the battery and test again before sending in an email. If they are still non-functional, please contact Jeff Watts asap.
- A reminder to all First Responders to keep an eye on their oxygen tank levels. If one tank is depleted of oxygen, please exchange it for a full tank with Jeff before your spare tank is used up.
- Finally, we have new glucometers in circulation for First Responder use. The new testing strips no longer support the use of the old glucometers. Please ensure that the entire team is well versed in the usage of the new glucometer (same idea, but testing strip is much more sensitive).
