6 more days!! Sockwars 2011 ends on Dec 14th. Thank you everyone for your generous donations! Congratulations to Cambie Secondary for Best Sockwars Poster Design, and McRoberts Secondary for Best Sockwars Webpage Design! Each school was awarded a $50 Starbucks Gift Card.

Greatest thank you ever!! Thanks to Katryna and Taryn for their countless hours of hard work in cleaning, organizing, and restocking the Portable. The place looks amazing!

Training Session – Another training practice day has been set for Dec 30th at Cambie Secondary, for all first aiders, first responders, and actors. The training session will feature practical scenario practice throughout the day. Lunch will be provided.

Elementary School Outreach Program –  Belva See and Belinda Yee from Burnett Secondary are coordinating with Grade 6/7 classes at Spul’u'kwuks Elementary to provide first aid training for students. The program will provide a certified PeopleSavers Level 4 course and is set to launch in March 12, 14, and 16. We are currently planning to certify First Responders (age 16+) to become Red Cross “facilitator” instructors to teach the program.

CJ’13 – The First Responders as well as the OOS Emergency Medical Services staff have been asked to provide their services once again for the Canadian National Scout Jamboree in Summer 2013.

Sockwars poster design contest ends tonight November 27th before midnight! Send all entries to Jeff Watts (jwatts@shaw.ca). Two winners will be announced for an outstanding poster and outstanding digital website poster. Prizes will be rewarded later this week. Grand prize: $50 Starbucks gift card.

Monthly FR meeting will take place on December 4th, at 19:00h. An information sessions regarding the EMR course will take place after the meeting. If you are interested in enrolling in the EMR course, please contact Jeff Watts.
